One of my favorite pastime on weekends in Malaysia is to walk around the night market. There are all sorts of food, snacks, drinks, clothes, shoes, phone cases, electronics…can be found at stalls along the street. That part of the street is blocked from around 6pm-10pm. It is the best place to try the local food and drinks there.
By walking around the stalls, plastic bags are commonly seen hanging around everywhere and on the ground. It is very convenient for them to pack everything into plastic bags without thinking about the wastage. When I came across Bye Bye Plastic Bags campaigns on no plastic bags started by group of high school students in Kuala Lumpur, I really hope that the public can say no to plastic bags and to bring their own recycle bags along with them.
