We should be able to give 4,2 or 4,4 or 4,8 stars.

Google Maps shows the ratings in decimals. (3.8, 4.7 etc)

I don’t understand why can’t we rate in decimals as well.
The problem with the current system is that the difference between 4 and 5 is just too big.
And you can’t really reward exceptional service and places with actual 5* unless you are punishing other good places with 4*

If I were able to give 4.2s and 4.5s then the meaning of a 5.0 rating would be much more significant and had real weight.

In terms of UX it would be an afternoon job to even a junior developer in Google make the star slider accepting decimals.

Please Consider,

thank you

I think you can specify your rating in review details, aslo Google Msp has added more elaborated rating system.

I think the majority of Maps users appreciate how easy it is to use the star ratings. With more options it will be more complicated and time-consuming to make a rating.

So I think it is better to have the super simple setup.

All the best
