Hi @anon22766736
Thanks for tagging me, even if it’s for a criticism. Criticism is always appreciated, when it’s constructive.
In the new Connect we can choose the platform language through our profile settings.
After that, when a topic or a reply is in a language we want to translate, we can activate the translator by clicking on the globe under the post.
Thanks for sharing the links. I checked some of them, and they are absolutely against the rules, because they are self-promotional and because they are uploaded in a place where there is no button to upload images (a practice not allowed, but unfortunately not respected by many). For reference: Adicionar, remover ou compartilhar fotos ou vídeos no Google Maps: “Não é possível incluir fotos ou vídeos em coordenadas ou endereços.”
I will take care of checking the profile and reporting the user. Unfortunately, the abuse of the use of images seems to be difficult to manage, given that the Maps platform has over 500 million contributors. This is an issue that I have personally reported to Google about every 6 months since 2017, and I assure you that I will continue to do so.
I’m sorry to have given this impression. I believe that the problems we have in Google Maps should be understood in the context of the contributions, and I don’t like hypocrisy.
If you think that in some way my response may have been rude, write to me in the post or privately and I will be happy to explain why I responded in that way. I am a person who believes a lot in rules and their intrinsic value, and I believe that rules should be respected. Of course, not everyone is happy when they receive a response they don’t like, but if you think my response was inappropriate, it is your right to report it to Google moderators privately using the flag under my response.

Can you kindly provide an example?
Are you referring to questions about Connect or Google Maps?
In Connect the guide to using the platform is here: Community guidelines - Local Guides Connect
If you are referring to Maps, I think the correct thing to do is to direct to the guidelines and the Maps help, which are always multilingual. Many direct instead to other posts in Connect which however as I showed you above can always be translated into your language.
If you have any Connect malfunctions or suggestions for improvement, you can use the form mentioned in the post: feedback form
I’m sorry you think so, because it’s not a question of hostility. What the moderators try to do is to warn you when someone is, perhaps unknowingly, violating the rules of Maps. This is not meant to be an accusation towards the writer, but an attempt to help the Local Guide avoid being suspended from Maps: Sometimes those who tell you “good” are not helping you, while those who tell you “be careful” are trying to do so, even if I understand that sometimes our response may not be liked.
Ermes
