Waste to Wonder Park (New Delhi, India)

Waste to Wonder Park is recently built by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) in New Delhi.

It is built on a specific theme, under which the Seven Wonders of the World are constructed using waste materials (mostly scrap parts).

Most of the products used are automobile parts, cycle chain, car engine, truck spring, fuel tanks, etc. SDMC authority utilized these material which became useless. It is said that about 150 tonnes of industrial and domestic waste were utilized.

It is said that it is world’s first such theme based park having structures built of waste products. Around 75 Million Rupees were used for this project, which mostly included workers’ wages, transportation charges, building & maintenance costs.

The story behind making of this park is really inspiring. It also gave many novice sculptors a platform to showcase their creativity.

Since it has been opened recently this year only, the crowd remains pretty high now. People are currently very excited to see this, especially the kids. During weekends and public holidays, there remains a rush.
The timing of this park are 11AM to 11PM and remains

A fee of Rs 50 is charged per adult for visiting this site.

Hi @Tushar18 ,

Thank you for sharing your post with us. The story behind the park is inspiring, what we can achieve by using the waste we produce. Is it usually crowded? What are the opening hours?

By the way, I relabeled your post to Local Stories as it fits better there, since you are sharing the story of Waste Wonder Park.
