Wankhede Stadium is once again the heart of the action, and because we’re all #FansNahiFam, I’ve done the heavy lifting to make sure your match day is all about the cheers, not the chores.
From the new Aqua Line Metro stops to the specific gate rules you need to know, here is your ultimate guide to arriving at Wankhede in style and ease!

From Metro Aqua Line to every entry gate - here is how to navigate the stadium like a local.
The Stations (Your Gateway to the Game)

- Churchgate Station (Western Railway)
The Vibe: This is the lifeline for Wankhede. It’s a 5-minute walk to the stadium.
Pro Tip: Don’t even think about taking a cab from here to the stadium - the traffic is a deadlock. Walking is 10x faster!
Distance: 5 min walk.
Best for: Fans coming from the Western Suburbs.
- Marine Lines Station (Western Railway)
Distance: 14 min walk.
Pro Tip: Use this station if your seat is in the North Stand to avoid the Churchgate rush.
- Churchgate Metro (Aqua Line 3)
Have a Metro Card, it comes handy and saves time. Issued with just Name and Mobile Number, it’s your life-saver in all the metros and buses too.
Distance: 7 min walk.
Best for: Seamless travel from BKC or Colaba.
- CST Station (Central/Harbour Railway)
Distance: 20 min walk or 10 min cab.
Best for: Fans coming from Central Mumbai or Navi Mumbai.
Bus Routes & Stops
Download Chalo App to have all your bus journeys sorted.
- Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate): Major hub for BEST buses.
Routes: 82, 108, 123, and 137 are your BEST friends for reaching South Mumbai
Entry Gates: Know Your Way In
CRITICAL ADVISORY: Check your physical or digital ticket before joining a queue! Your entry is strictly limited to the gate number mentioned on your ticket.
Gate No. 1 (Polly Umrigar): Access for North Stand and Sunil Gavaskar Stand.
Gate 2 (Vinoo Mankad): Main entry for VIPs and Corporate Boxes.
Gate 3 (Dilip Sardesai Gate)
The Vibe: Located on the North side. Usually provides access to the North Stand and Divecha Pavilion.
Pro Tip: If your ticket says Gate 3, use the Marine Lines station instead of Churchgate to avoid the massive crowds.
Gate 4 & 5 (Marine Drive side): Usually for Vijay Merchant and Garware Stands.
Gate 7 (D Road): Often used for Sachin Tendulkar Stand access.
Accessible Entry (Gate 4 & 5)
The Vibe: These gates on the Marine Drive side are generally flatter and better for those with mobility needs.
Pro Tip: Elevators are primarily available for the Grandstand and VVIP boxes. For general stands, be prepared for some stairs! 
The “Offline” Hack
The Vibe: Internet signal dies the moment 30,000 people start live-tweeting the toss.
Pro Tip: Download your M-Ticket QR code and your Google Map of the area offline before you leave home. You’ll thank me when the gates are crowded!
Marine Drive (Post-Match Pickup)
The Vibe: Post-match, the area directly outside the stadium is a “No-Cab Zone.”
Pro Tip: Walk towards Nariman Point (near the Oberoi) to book your Uber/Ola. Cabs can’t reach the stadium gates due to police cordons.
Leave early than your estimated time to avoid the last minute delays.
Keep an eye out for the (Mumbai Indians) MI-themed AC local train - it’s the coolest way to get to Churchgate!"
