Walking Around "The Viking Ship Museum," in Oslo, Norway (2017)

I had the opportunity to travel to Oslo, Norway for a family member’s wedding.

In between times, we had the opportunity to explore certain parts of Oslo.

In this particular photo set, we go to the Viking Ship Museum and the journey was a little bit interesting.

We had to take a ferry down to get to the Viking Museum.

The two ships inside were the Oseberg Ship and the Tune ship.

There is also a very interesting film playing on one of the walls in the museum. It consisted of images in music showing the history of how the Vikings lived.

There was also an area where you could sit down and watch the movie in its entirety.

Tips
If you’re looking to travel in the Oslo, Norway area, they have these travel passes that give you access to several museums and attractions in the city.

We were able to get a pass and we saw several museums in the area.

The ferry ride took about half an hour, with a fairly decent walk to the museum after. The pass we used was the “Oslo Pass.” And, I forgot to mention, there was also free transportation. From the website, they have three options for passes, with the prices in NOK. The validity at this point is 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours.

We got our passes in person from the Oslo Visitor Center

@user_not_found It is indeed a beautiful post and it even looks kinda real. Thanks for tips too. How long was the ferry ride and if we buy the travel passes is there a specific validity?

@MAHBUB_HYDER

Thanks for clicking by. The photos actually make them look much smaller. They are pretty large up close.

Thanks @sophie_fusion

Hi @user_not_found The ferry is completely empty. Is it for COVID-19? …

One day I would like to visit Northern Europe. I’m really interesting for the history of the Vikings.

Thanks for the post.

@DENIT33

These photos were taken in 2017, so it was before covid-19. I don’t know what would be going on at this point in time.

We were the first one in the line, so I was able to get a photo of the ferry before anybody boarded, but it filled up eventually.
