@PaulPavlinovich , guiding star award is huge honour and recognition for any local guide to win because it shows how much of a difference they made on this platform and Google Maps as well. Who ever wins it they will be receiving recognition for from Google for their work, effort, dedication and commitment on here and on Google Maps regardless of how long they have been doing it but as long it is really well.

I think you misunderstand @HuseyinBesguller I don’t think Guiding Stars exists as an ongoing concept. It was done during Covid. You may notice if you look in the menu that there was no Guiding Stars in 2023 so its not likely there will be a Guiding Stars in 2024.
I personally loved the idea and was a GS in 2020 but I just wanted you to avoid disappointment in campaigning for votes only to discover there is no event this year.

@PaulPavlinovich , I know it is weird for people to see me to ask them to vote for someone who deserves biggest recognition from Google but I just want remind people to not miss out to give recognition to someone who truly deserves it for their time, commitment and dedication. I didn’t see a call to vote but I felt it needed to be done someone who knows how important voting is the nation rather not using their voting rights on any platform whether if is for leader of the country or guiding star.

Hi @HuseyinBesguller there is no point in voting as there is no Guiding Stars anymore. You can vote if you want to but it will not do anything.

How do you hope to conduct the vote if the GS event was still running? Do you have some local guides in mind?
I was a GS 2022 and that was the last !!!
In addition to what @PaulPavlinovich has told you I think the team checks the quality(and maybe quantity) of your contributions not only here on connect but on Google maps as well. It’s not just your popularity among other local guides that matters.
Lastly I wonder what the team would think of it? Anyway just for talking sake the GS event hasn’t been available.

@SholaIB , They lots amazing local guides who deserve to win I had voted for @Gezendunyali on creative community with amazing pictures on Google Maps and good content local guide connect for showing Turkey’s best side like historical Architectural buildings, foods, people and culture. @MrFreez and @SholaIB for community builder for showing the best side for Nigeria like amazing food, sight seeing, beaches and generous people by doing good deed to others. @AdamGT for showing best side of Australia which has unique building that stands out really well. Few others that I didn’t mention on here. Perhaps they should be poll on asking anyone who they think deserves to win and the most popular candidate will be mentioned on the poll result. @Annaelisa deserves to win as well because she showed the best side of Germany and other nations.

@MrFreez , I think you are one of the people who deserve to win because you make Nigeria look better in real life as well on the picture with amazing pictures of Nigeria. If you win Guiding star award you will be among of the Nigerians who makes the nation proud with you winning the award just like @SholaIB who made Nigeria look good but would look better if you win as well.
