On November 10, 2024, Myself and @DurgaK03 visited Anna Restaurant, a well-known spot for South Indian breakfast, with several outlets in Pune.
Walking in, we felt like have stepped into a classic South Indian eatery. There were two seating options: one with marble stone tables and benches, and the other with regular tables and chairs.
We ordered the Ghee Podi Idli, Regular Masala Dosa, Dipped Medu Vada, and their specialty, the Ghee Roast Dosa. Every dish was fantastic and incredibly flavorful.
The Ghee Podi Idli was soft and bite-sized, like button idlis. The Dipped Medu Vada was spot-on, with a perfectly crispy outer layer and a warm, well-cooked interior. The Ghee Roast Dosa and Masala Dosa were amazing. The crispiness of the dosa was satisfying, and the potato filling paired beautifully. Their sambar was also a highlight—just the right consistency, not too thick or watery, with a traditional South Indian flavor.
After breakfast, we ordered a filter coffee that was simply delightful. The froth on top was perfect, enhancing the rich flavor.
Anna also serves sandwiches, juices, tea, and more.
Overall, our experience at Anna was excellent. I highly recommend this place for breakfast if you’re around the Baner area.
Pro tip: This place gets crowded quickly on weekend, so try to arrive early to grab a spot and enjoy your breakfast!
