REIEK TLÂNG - THE ARTISTIC PEAK**

At an attitude of about 1700 meters, the Reiek Tlâng is one of the highest hills of Mizoram, and certainly the most famous. A place to find peace and serenity, calling out lovers of nature, romance and adventure from all over the country. It is located at a distance of about 30 kms west from the state capital of Mizoram, Aizawl. The Reiek Tlâng provides visitors with an opportunity of trekking with the backdrop of sceneries borrowed from the Mizo Hills.
As in the case with most North Eastern destination of India, Reiek is also relatively unexplored and sits pretty as a pearl in the hills.
The virgin forest of the Reiek Hills on one side and a steep rocky cliff on the other make it a unique place to be at. While climbing up the hill, you get used to constant humping and chirping of the countless birds in the region. The place is also a haven for birdwatchers.
The best time for visiting starts from late August following till the month of March.
