Oddar Meanchey [meanings northern victory] is located in the top Northwest part of Cambodia that is bordering with Thailand. It is one of the smallest provinces, among the total of 25 provinces in Cambodia that was created in 1964 in name, but only came to life in 1995, cut part of Siem Reap province. The province is the last battle field of civil war, the Khmer Rouge which still remain until 1990s. It has an international border with Thailand called O’Smach, the notorious battlefield in history.
Tourist attractions
Compared to its neighboring provinces, Oddar Meanchey has lesser tourist attractions. However, I have created a list of where to visit while in OMC here with map on Google Map.
- Prasat Tamoan Thom, Google Map is here. The temple lies on the border between the two countries, there are soldiers of both sides guarding the temples these days. It was built
- Spean Tob or Spean Tipv - names of (3 bridges with the same locations and names: central, south, and north) the longest ancient bridge in Cambodia built in Angkorian era with 151m in length, 146m, 30. It is about 35km from the provincial town. It was built to cross the Sreng Stream flows from Dangrek mountain to Tonle Sap. It was built from sandstone and laterite.
- Trapeang Prasat temple, located 500m north of Trapeang Prasat district hall. The temple were built to worship to God Shiva.

I have mentioned about the Dark tourism sites around Cambodia which I also included the site there.
