In many places around the world, especially after over 1 year of continuous Covid-19 pandemic, many people are struggling with meeting daily needs due to loss of income, loss of job, increased cost of living etc. Many local communities already have or are starting up food banks where people can donate food and daily necessities, and the needy can go and pick up what they need for the day.
Local Guides can help by finding, documenting, updating Maps, sharing information on all these Food Banks so the local community can easily find them. Making this information publicly easily available can help mobilize the local community, so nearby people can help contribute, and people who need help know where they can get some assistance.
Join us in this virtual meet-up to share/learn about Food Banks, what they are, how to spot them, and share your ideas how to document and share them with the local community. Let’s help everyone who have, help those who have not. Join to share your experiences and ideas, so we can learn together.
This meetup is also timed as a new effort for Local Guides for celebrating the 5th birthday of Local Guides Connect. Let’s mobilize ourselves to help the poor and needy.
