Vimto is a non-alcoholic beverage which is composed of blend of fruits, berries and secret herbs. The formula of Vimto is a tradesecret and only a handful number of people knows it. Vimto is extremely popular in Saudi Arabia, It is estimated that more than 30 Million vimto bottles were sold in Saudi Market during the year 2019.
The parent company of this drink is located in United Kingdom and it was introduced in the Saudi Market at around 1938. People from Saudi Arabia use vimto in many ways such as in the preparation of sugary drinks, smoothies, desserts, cookies etc. I personally love mixing the vimto cordial with the carbonated drink (soda) along with the mint leaves. This for me is a refreshing drink which I usually have after a big meal.
In Saudi Arabia it’s very common to break the fast with vimto drink during the Iftar in the month of Ramadan.

That’s such a nice description of the beverage @fasi6083 . I don’t think we have this in India. Hope someday we will have it, otherwise I have to move Saudi Arabia to taste it . Thank you for sharing such a beautiful picture of the Vimto.

Thanks for the comment @SarveswarB You will be surprised to know that during the British Raj(Around 1930) some britishers bought the Vimto drink to Indian market and the drink was a huge hit during that time. Few Non-Resident Indians residing in Saudi Arabia (SA) bought the Vimto drink along with them to SA and shared it with their Saudi bosses. The Saudi’s were much impressed with the Vimto taste and decided to buy the license from the parent company of Vimto.

The company is planning to relaunch the product again after nearly 50 years away from the Indian markets. Most probably you can find the Vimto cordial drink on E-commerce sites, I highly doubt that the drink will be available in our local grocery stores @SarveswarB

It looks so good with the mint leaves @fasi6083 ! I love discovering local specialities from other cultures so I want to see if I can find this the next time I travel in that part of the world.
Is this the type of drink that is too strong if you don’t mix it with anything?

@MortenSI Thanks for the comment, the drink is concentrated with variety of fruit flavors which is why it is usually mixed with Soda or chilled water.

It makes perfect sense to mix it up with other beverages @fasi6083 . I’m sure it would do very well in some cocktails too!
