Velliangiri Hills

Velliangiri mountain range is one of the underrated mountain peaks of India. Last month, I visited this place and was really surprised by its innate beauty. Unlike Himalayas, this place is unexplored and many people visit here for trekking. Local people are helpful there and they guide us along the path.

It is a part of Western Ghats of India (literally a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve). Spiritually, it is revered at par with Mount Kailash. You can find some temples of Lord Shiva here.

The place is at the outskirts of Coimbatore and can be visited if you there at Isha Foundation.

During my visit to Isha Foundation, I had very little time with me to explore this place. So, I could not much deep inside the forests and mountain range.

This is the picture I took from far - paddy field in the front, coconut trees in middle and dense forests & hill at the back.

Hi @AlexaAC

Thank you very much for the appreciation. Yes, the dense forests are unexplored places on Earth. But be careful whenever you visit - there is always some risk of dangerous animals and reptiles.
