Coincidence, this year World Environment Day coincides with the festival of Vat Purnima celebrated on 5th June 2020.
Vat Purnima also called Vat Savitri is observed by married Hindu women in India. On this Purnima (full moon) a married woman marks her love for her husband by tying a ceremonial thread around a banyan tree.
Temples were not worshiped due to the lockdown in India.
In view of Coronavirus scare the women wearing masks and maintain social distancing while performing the pooja.
In several parts of India or for a large section of Hindus, Vat Savitri puja or the worship on Vat Savitri day is the equivalent of the Karwa Chauth Vrat. In Hindu Religion Much like the Vat Savitri Vrat observed by married women pan India on the Amavasya (the no moon night) in the Jyeshtha month, Vat Purnima Vrat is also observed by married women for the well-being and long life of their husbands.
Nice to read a story about a ritual.
Whatever may be the mythological story, the custom highlights worship of a remarkably significant tree The Banyan.
BTW, some more points.

Thank you for sharing. Interesting celebration. Does it have to do with having good luck in the marriage? ItтАЩs only women, no men are present at this time? Is this a one day event? What else is traditional for this occasion?
ItтАЩs really interesting to learn something new about other cultures. IтАЩve never really heard about this before so IтАЩm curious.
