@ArunMuralidhar , @bijusreekumar , @antosmaman , @JustinAlex … your area… I didn’t realise Varkala being such an area though (I know it’s a public touristy place and popular amongst tourists). Although then again, I had never gone there before. Want to share more info on this?

@Asokan , @StephenAbraham Varkala Beach, also known as Papanasham Beach . It is believed that a dip in the waters of Papanasham Beach washes away all the sins in one’s life , so the beach is called Papanasham .It is the only place in southern Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian Sea. There are numerous water spouts and spas on the sides of these cliffs.
Two weeks before I had visited the Varkala beach.
It is a normal beach having a good ambience. Nowadays, it is trending among the foreigners., Somewhat similar to the famous Kovalam Beach. You can have a good bath there in the sea.
As you mentioned, Hindu believers come for washing their sin. That’s why it’s called Papanasam Beach.
