Mansion of Royal Physician, Orchha Fort, Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India.
In the Southern part of the Orchha fort complex I came across an entrance ruins which is a three storeyed structure. According to the information displayed there it was the residential mansion of the Royal Physician also known as Vaidya Ki Haveli.
This haveli must have been built in the early 17th century AD during the reign of Raja Veer Singh Deo. appears to have been made in The main entrance is a multi-leafed arch that opens into a rectangular hall. The first floor has three archedways balcony made of stone and supported by decorated stone brackets. There are three ventilators in the blind arches on the top floor. Hallways built on arches, rectangular rooms, courtyards decorated with stucco, etc are sometimes seen in the remains. The stairs have also almost been damaged, now this superstructure of the entrance and some inner walls are left.
This is a protected monument and its Bundela architecture is a major attraction.
