I haven’t received any responses from other forums, so thought I’d post it here, as we only have a day to know if we need to edit our videos (I have also tried to edit within YT, but that also doesn’t seem to be functional. From forums, thr YT team is already aware of this, and said it’s in beta). Screenshots below.
YouTube adds exactly two seconds to uploaded videos . Will this disqualify an application, or is the Google team reviewing the application already aware of this??
I posted a video that is exactly one minute. After it was uploaded, the video shows 1-2 seconds added.
When the link is shared, it shows 1:01 minutes. When I go to edit, it shows 1:02 minutes. Where I can share the URL shows exactly 1:00 minute which is the only correct time, but this doesn’t show when I click on it from a different browser, so I know the minutes are incorrect.

@Atsukot can you verify this? I asked this days ago in the forums, and no one from Google has replied. I’ve received about 16 “likes,” so others’ must be having the same concern.

Since it doesn’t look like there will be a response by the deadline: after several attempts using the YouTube beta studio I was finally able to trim the video.
Here is the link on how to trim the video: https://smallbusiness.chron.com/can-edit-video-time-youtube-67109.html
Something that it does not mention, or YouTube doesn’t, is that you can’t leave the page when it says that the video is being processed. Even after you click Save, you must stay on the page for the changes to actually save. The video length time will still show incorrectly on the editing page. BUT, don’t trim further. Click the actual video to see if the changes were saved. It is beta, so it is VERY far from perfect at the moment. Again, it took me several attempts before it worked.
My feedback for this process: it would be great if there were people from Google dedicated to only the submission process. Important things like this are being missed because all of the Googlers are being tagged in irrelevant (post that are only in reply to something they wrote) posts.
Anyway, the program seems to only be a few years old, so hopefully all of this feedback will be taken into consideration for future events.
Has anyone who applied in the past had this much trouble with the process before??? (video uploads, url’s, submission errors)

Hello @petitereaderifc , the video should be approximately 60 seconds, so if it’s 1:01 or 1:02 minutes, please do not worry.

@Atsukot Hi, at last there is some clarity with these kind of issues. I too faced the problem since my video went upto 1.04 minutes after editing it with pictures . Somehow like @petitereaderifc I just was able to do it but in the end , the video and audio quality suffered… Thanks you anyway this post will help the future Local quides when applying for the video
