Is there a unanimous decision on how to display unit number in an outdoor mall?
Is it: (Unit # is 123, Building # is 456)
A) 123-456 Name St.
B) 456 Name St., 123
C) Unit 123, 456 Name St.
D) 456 Name St., Unit 123
E) Other
I feel like it’s important for there to be a best practice, but I have been unable to find an answer anywhere.
I see all of them around my neighbourhood and I find it rather annoying the inconsistency. Personally I have always gone with A) when mailing packages.
The only official information I can find on this is to put the unit/suite number on address line 2. But when editing an address there is only one line.
Adding a store code to an address on Google Maps is typically not permitted. Feel free to refer to the specific examples to determine what can and can’t be included, as part of Google My Business, Guidelines for representing your business on Google.
I am not asking about store numbers though, in talking about unit numbers which is different.
I mean like if you have three stores in one building, they have unit numbers just like an apartment.
Your link even says they are permitted.
“Suite numbers, floors, building numbers, etc. may also be included. Information like cross-streets and nearby landmarks should only be included in regions where the official street address doesn’t accurately pinpoint the business’s location.”
As you can see it says it may be included, however there are no examples of how it should be written down on the page at all. Hence this post to clarify.
They do give information to put unit numbers on address line two. But there is no address line two when editing addresses so I’m at an impasse.
I’m not trying to be a pain but I don’t own a business, I’m just trying to correct incorrect information.
I am not very functional at 3am, and as I tried to go back to sleep it occured to me that it would actually be best to ask there and bring this information back with me. I will ask the business forums when I wake up.
