Here is a city that do not get mention as a top travel destination. A city in my opinion, so underrated that is high time it gets a shout out for being excellent in everything be it culture, architecture, local cuisine, service, the people and so on.
I walked on the street and received welcoming shoutout “Welcome to Slovenia” from the locals and smiles and warm greeting from service’s staff. These are small things that I don’t get much when I was at famous top travel destinations such as Vienna and Paris. I love the feeling of being welcome and accepted when I’m at foreign places. It’s what make a city truly magnificent and outstanding.

Thank you for sharing with us your experience in Ljubljana, Slovenia. I have shared my post about Things to do and see in Ljubljana a few weeks back and I can also say that the Slovenian people are really welcoming and they are famous with their hispotality. I’ve spent 3 months in the capital city and I was feeling like I’m home. The country is small and maybe that’s why it’s not so popular, but it is indeed very beautiful and the people are polite. The food is affordable and very delicious.
Here is one of my favourite shots from Ljubljana city center:
@KatyaL I so agree with you. Top hospitality that I have received so far and this comes after my bad experience in Vienna. I had people telling me that it’s not worth it coming to Ljubljana but I totally disagree now.
Food indeed is affordable and cheap. I had Pad Thai and a drink for 6.90€, orange juice plus sandwich for 4.50€ and pizza with 2 glasses of beer for 12.50€ at the city center.
I also had one of the best ice cream at Vigo too! Truly recommended travel destination.
Yes, the ice cream is great! I would never miss a chance to recommend it! Unfortunately I don’t have photos of ice cream to share with you, but it is definitely something that I would try again when I visit Ljubljana. I liked the chocolate and blueberry ice cream the most. Did you manage to visit other cities outside Ljubljana? The Slovenian Alps have great places for skiing in the winter.
@KatyaL I didn’t get the chance to travel anywhere else as I’ve already booked my trip to Venice. I wish I could have gone to Bled though. I heard it’s an awesome place too
Don’t miss the chance to visit the Ljubljana castle. A great way to see the city center is to rent a boat on river Ljubljanica. I’m sure you’ll be amazed how beautiful the city is =] Please let me know how you spent your time there and tell me if you need more tips!
