For a while now, I’ve not been seeing the options to answer questions on my Google Maps app nor do I see the option “Know this place?”. I have an iOS device. I checked an Android device to see if it was visible there and I could see “Questions and Answers” on it. Does this issue pertain only to iOS devices or am I missing something here?
Below is a screenshot of the app from my phone when I try to search any place to answer questions about it. Please help.
Hi, @Sheetal_RS . Thank you for reaching out. I’m afraid that the feature Question and Answers about a place is not available for IOS. You can refer to this article for more information. Take in mind also that as informed by Google Maps Team, “During the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, we are taking steps to protect the health of our team members and prioritize critical services. As a result, there may be some temporary limitations and delays in how you can contribute to Maps”.
As per my understanding through the latest web search, the feature is not yet available on IOS devices.
However, there is a workaround. Query any POI (Place of Interest) through the Google Chrome browser. That will display content from Maps. Through that, you can continue to contribute in the same way you do through the app.
Here is a screen shot captured on an iPhone
If you are an LG & are signed in the browser, you will gain points too.
Further, if any POI is there in your timeline, you will see the query “Know this place” too through the browser.
Thus, you can access the features missing in the ios version of Maps, through browser.
I have the same problem no matter what I try, using the app or the Chrome browser, using an iPad, iPhone, Fire Tablet, or PC laptop. No questions appear. Any idea what to do?
Yes I was actually trying to find this feature on my iPhone but it’s just not there, as suggested by another person a simple google search from a browser is going to give you this option right under the knowledge base card.
