This issue began 3 days ago. It’s not possible anymore, to click on the username of the person that made a review, and view their account or other reviews. Its not just me, as it’s happening other people around the world and I did many tests on my partner’s phone. I’m surprised nobody is talking about this! This is how I find cool places in the world - by scrolling through the reviews of experienced like minded travelers like myself. Now nobody can view my profile, or follow me. Likewise, me for them. I’m praying it’s just a bug, because this is an essential feature. Has anyone got some information on this please??

Can you give us some more details, what exactly they steps were, you did and on which platform you experience this issue? Do you access the place listings from desk using a Web browser or form a mobile Phone using the Google Maps app? If the latter, is it under Android or iOS and which version of the App are you using.
I just tried opening a business listing on the desktop and also the Maps app version 25.18.00 752029409 (#1068042938) under Android. On both platforms, I can click the author of a review and can see the profile.
This might apply to yourself. Can you share the link to your own profile here? Please see a description, how to do so.

@WilfriedB I think I see the same as @Scuba_Al in Android App.
If I click a review, it just loads the review in the card or whatever they call it. But I’m not able to tap on the username to load their profile page :
Same result from the full review listing.
Although I’m not 100% sure of the function before, I could definitely access a profile from the review previously.
If I I select a photo for example, or a photo in the review, I can tap on the username and see their profile however.
So to see a person’s profile, they will have had to have uploaded a photo.

Strange, @anon24291235 and @Scuba_Al it works for me as usual with version 25.18.00 752029409 (#1068042938) under Android 11.
@DeniGu, any idea, why some users cannot see the user profiles of the authors of reviews anymore?

The steps I’ve taken are described exactly by Steve_UK. Clicking on the reviewers name does not take me to their profile, like it has always done before. I’m really wondering is this for everyone?? I’ve got confirmation, it’s happening also with my partner and people in the States and northern Europe.

So I be tapping a bit more and like I mentioned, if it’s an image, then things work ok but now I see that if there is a reaction emoji, then you only get that information, and you cannot load the profile.
I have 2 screenshots, and yes I wanted to leave the full screenshot of the nice cake for you all 
First shows the username and the reaction at the bottom. But you tap that and it reveals the reaction info i.e. if there a multiple reactions, then it shows each one
But then you cannot click the username for the profile. It just closes the reaction breakdown page
Is this the same for you Al?

Yes it is indeed Steve. Just tested it there and got the same result. Good spot.
I still don’t see anything about this online.
I’m probably spending too much time on Maps, but still I hope they fix this sharpish.

How to enter on people profiles?
When i click te name of the person.
It opens the review, i cant check profiles anymore on good reviews.
Only in the tab “new or discover” dont know how its called in english. U can access profiles.
A lot of bugs enter the app last time.
Problem: just found out right now. But problem is on 2 of my phones so i think its a bug

Seems to be the same problem.
The profiles can been still seen in the tab exploring “city name” tab.
Dont know if that is known of told.
But i readed it will be solved in next update so lets see. I am currious
