Hey guides, I realised that in showing you the attractions of Istanbul I totally forgot to show you the extremely renowned Istiklal Caddesi (https://goo.gl/maps/f7sKKPzdwbnBcW8Q7). What so special about this street?
No cars are allowed inside and tourists enjoy walking and shopping from their favourite brands.
Even if you feel hungry then there are many options to dine in there from their local street food items to their fancy eateries.
Heavy traffic is very disturbing when you want to shopping or to see the natural beauty of a place , a very nice step taken by the authority @meerashahzad
Thank you for your post about Istiklal Caddesi, a place I have visited a few times and the football stadium nearby. In fact, I have spent quite a bit of time in Turkey and have been to Istanbul several times. As you will most likely know Istanbul was formerly Constantinople and before that Byzantium which, under the then rule of Emperor Constantine became the capital of the Roman Empire and renamed New or Nova Rome. So it’s had a few names! I have to say that reading your post made me wonder if you or any other Local Guide here have been down into Istanbul’s subterranean wonders, the underground tunnels, ruins of the Byzantium/Roman city below the old centre of Istanbul! So much history!!!
Thank you for commenting on my post and I am sure there must be many guides who are interested in history, but unfortunately I am not a history person and more interested in food and photography.
