Hello New Connect Members,
Several of our fellow Connect members have recently reported issues with uploading photos, posting reviews, adding roads, or using certain features on Google Maps. I came across a post where a member faced a similar issue. I suggested a solution, and it worked! So, I’ve decided to share the troubleshooting steps here to help other members who might face the same challenges.
Here is the comment attached as well as the solution for all.
Here’s the solution I shared:
-
Check Account Status: Ensure your Google account is in good standing. If your account has any restrictions or policy violations, photo uploads may be limited.
-
Review Google Maps Guidelines: Confirm that your photos meet Google Maps content policies. Avoid copyrighted images, personal information, or low-quality content, as they may be removed automatically.
-
Clear Cache and Update App:
- Clear the cache of the Google Maps app or try reinstalling it.
- Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.
-
Try Desktop Upload: If the issue persists on mobile, try uploading photos via the desktop version of Google Maps.
-
Check Internet Connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection while uploading photos.
-
File Format and Size: Make sure the photos are in standard formats like JPEG or PNG and not too large in size.
-
Report to Google Support: If the issue continues, consider reporting the problem through the Google Maps Help Center or the “Send Feedback” option in the app.
I hope these steps help you resolve basic issues you’re experiencing with Google Maps App. Let’s keep contributing and making Maps better together!
