Actually am sorry to say that I have troubles, stopping and opposing from a few of the places’ owners when I want to do an edit to a points ( places).
They stop me on the pretext of Who are you?
Who do you work for?
Can you prove yourself you work on Map? Have ID? Have Badge? That makes me upset ! I don’t have any document to show those people that I work on Map for Google Map.
I started contributing on map swiftly , happily and fast. I don’t wanna become slow because of those.
What am thinking of is, why not I have a badge hanged on my neck? And so the LGs!.
I believe it is a good Idea, I don’t wanna be stopped by anyone. I wanna continue my contributing freely and fast.
This subject has been discussed several times on the community.
First of all, we are NOT working on Map for Google Maps. We are doing a volunteer activity for improving the information in Google Maps.
If a business owner want to know your relation with Google Maps, your status is clearly shown on your profile in Google Maps, both on desktop and mobile.
If a business don’t want to have his business listed on Google Maps, this is a choice of the business, a choice that we have to respect, we should always remember that no means no.
I don’t really understand when you say “I started contributing on map swiftly , happily and fast. I don’t wanna become slow because of those.” Contributing as a Local Guide is not a competition.
@khalidkhalil , What make easy mapping is: Introduce yourself to the business, explaining what Google Maps is, and showing your contributions in there. Asking for the permission for taking photos and for making an edits is always the best way and, again, if they say no you should thank them and give up.
Please don’t get me wrong, when I said ,fast, swiftly, etc… I meant am so happy as a local guide in my country, I wanted to get my country Map very accurate. And make sure my contributions comes out from my heart. That’s it.
