Hi @Janjot
Thanks for sharing this stunning photo. Where is this located? How high are these mountains? It looks very steep to me. I bet it was really challenging getting all the way up? Could you tell us more about your hike there and if you’ve been there before?
There are so many wonderful mountains and I’m waiting for sunnier days to come so I can also go hiking more.
The Triund Trek isn’t really that challenging @DanniS . Yes there are some steep sections (mainly towards the end) but still quite easy to climb. Overall, it’s an easy trek, ideal for trekking beginners and can comfortably be done in a day. The mountains that @Janjot shows in the picture are typical of the views of the Dhauladhar ranges that can be seen from the trek. You will enjoy it!
Thanks @AdamGT for your reply. Have you climbed to the peak? How high is the mountain? It seems pretty high up near the clouds.
Hi @DanniS
Yes the Dhauladhar ranges in the distance are quite high in fact the elevation varies from 3,500 to nearly 6,000 metres (approx 11,500 to 19,700 feet). However, keep in mind that these ranges are not on the Triund Trek which reaches an elevation of 2850 metres and from which I believe @Janjot 's great photo was taken. Being able to see spectacular views of these distant ice-caped ranges from the Triund Trek, is one of the reasons that make this trek so special and great for beginners - an easy trek yielding great views! The highest peak in the Dhauladhar ranges is Mt Hanuman Tibba 5,860 metres (19,225 feet). My adventures were all in Nepal (EVerest and Annapurna regions) and the Triund Trek and Dhauladhar ranges are in the upper northern area of India so no I haven’t climbed or trekked here. My knowledge and interest in this area, and in particular the Triund Trek, comes out of my interest in a place called Maclodganj near Dharamshala, which is where the Triund Trek starts and the place where Dalai Lama stayed while in exile. When time permits I will post some spectacular photos of the Annapurna and Everest areas.
Yes, many time and This is just 2580mt high from sea level. https://www.unciatrails.com/tour/triund-trek/
