Trisha's special moments of Local Guides ConnectLIVE:Tokyo 2025 Day 1

Its been Magical 2 Days The Connect Live Tokyo is Google’s global gathering for Local Guides, celebrating 10 years of the program within its 20‑year Google Maps journey. The event took place at Shibuya Stream in Tokyo’s Shibuya City on July 24–25, 2025. 55+ top contributors from around 15+ countries attended, as invited by Google for their outstanding contributions to the Google Maps. I was so thrilled, excited, happy and felt like over the moon. I would like to thank everyone on the team who made ConnectLIVE vibrant and successful with their tireless work and dedication.

Arrival & Welcome at Hotel Lyf Shibuya

This was my first time participating in Connect Live as a local guide. All the local guides’ accommodations at Hotel Lyf Shibuya were sponsored by Google. This was such a cool thing.

Participants from across the globe — roughly 22 Local Guides along with Google team members — gathered at the sleek lobby of Hotel Lyf Shibuya for a welcoming kickoff. It was a historic moment as Connect Live returned, commemorating 20 years of Google Maps and 10 years of the Local Guides program

Cross cultural Feast

Upon entering the Google office, we were taken to the welcome lounge. The first thing we did after entering the top-notch lounge was a feast of various Japanese cuisines. Sushi, takoyaki, fried chicken, tofu items, soba noodles, yakitori, edemame, buns, grilled vegetables skewer, mochi for desserts, detox water, drinks, everything was there. The Eco friendly Cup, spoons, paper cup are more noticeable for sure that’s promoting sustainability.

I have to mentioned that, Every single dish has named on a little play card. Also mentioned about allergen information, so easily we can found which dish i wanna try. This is so amazing

@Kristen_NYC started ConnectLIVE with a welcome speech. One by one, Google officers gave introductory speeches. I probably couldn’t explain in writing that it was such a colorful, friendly, and positive event. I raised a glass and cheer for Celebrating 10 years of Local Guides and 20 years of Google maps.

Wow! You are very fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in this program. I have many regrets, particularly because Japan was once my dream destination. I had numerous aspirations related to visiting Japan, but unfortunately, I was denied a Japanese visa three times.

Thank you @Trishatishu for sharing this beautiful post. I was the one that wore Javanese traditional shirt with striped fabric that called as “Lurik” (Java is an island from Indonesia). You wore one of the best, most beautiful, most eye-catching traditional dress at that night.
