It’s a single day mini trip, or I would call it a picnic. Going to Gorai beach and Pagoda can be an excellent option for a family picnic, with friends, solo or with a partner. It suits all.
Let’s be truthful here: juhu and other beach sides in Mumbai don’t give a proper feeling of beachy day since these places aren’t that clean compared to Gorai beach. And on the way, Pagoda Vipassana Meditation Centre, one can visit by. It’s a must.
I will share with you about getting there in Mumbai and all you can do there. TRUST me, and it has got most of the adventure activities, food, and mesmerizing sunset.
If you want to drive to this place, you will have to leave after Dahisar Check Naka. It’s simple if you follow the Google Map. However, if you don’t want to take your car, the best option is to describe below.
Get down from the local Western train at Borivali station. From there, take an auto till Gorai Ferry point (10 min). Get your tickets from the ferry point to Pagoda centre and wait for your ferry to arrive (this ferry ride is an enjoyable experience). Once you reach the other side of the water by ferry, i.e. Pagoda point, Explore Pagoda, you can go inside see people meditating, roam around parks and go through painting tour and shopping centre when coming back.
From there, get yourself an auto till Gorai beach ( guy will take approx 120 RS ), and once you reach, there is a walk of around 2 - 3 min. There are numerous stalls on a beach where you can eat from veg to non-veg, you can go for motor boating, sea walk and so on. The boating charges aren’t that expensive, but it’s a must-try 150 Rs Person. As per my personal experience, once they stop the boat at mid of sea for a while, it is the calmest experience you will ever have. Enjoy.
For coming back - same, take an auto till ferry point ( note - the ferry point is also a way to Essel world water park ); you can add this to your trip and make it a day trip.
Best time to go - Oct to March. I am sharing some photographs.
What a superb photography…! Really awesome photos of Pagoda. Thank you @notkidding for sharing it with us and adding information. As per my information Gorai Ferry Point Borivali to Pagoda/ Essel World ferry is not operational now. We have to take Gorai Ferry Point Borivali to Gorai Jetty Point and then take Horse Kart or Auto till Pagoda. When did you visit the pagoda?
Thank you @TusharSuradkar for tagging me to see such a wonderful post.
You’re correct @Rohan10 . Although I took my car, however, tried to give an alternate route via ferry in the non-pandemic time. I visited both places in the last week of January. The best part of the trip was the drive-in beach,
Regarding the photos, I have had some slo-mo video as well, however, without uploading to youtube, it cannot be shared over here. Also if someone can help me to post a 360
