There are a lot of wonderful places on the territory of modern Belarus. And today I’d like to introduce you one the most beautiful (from my point of view). Holy Trinity church in Gervyaty (Grodno region) is a real architectural masterpiece. I was lost for words when I saw it first time.
It was built in 1903. Style: neo-gothic. An old wooden church (built in 1536) fell into disrepair and there was a necessity to build a new one. Brickyard producing high-quality bricks for local consumption was built on the outskirts. Local residents also brought eggs there which were added to cement to make it strength. Some building materials were brought from Germany.
The unique interior is created with the help of belarussian craftsmen. The church has never been closed, even during wars, as it was with other churches in our country. It actually has very good acoustucs, dare I say. That’s why organ concerts take place there nowadays.
Trinity church in Gervyaty has won a raving fan among tourists from our country and abroad. When someone asks me about sights of Belarus, I genuinely recommend visiting this place. And I’m always all ears when someone speaks about this miracle.
Hi @KateZhechko ,
thanks a lot for your awesome post. The church in Gerviaty is also my favorite. It is also called the Belarusian Notre Dame Cathedral or Cologne Cathedral. I haven’t been to Gervyaty yet, but your post made me want to visit it.
Both the inside and outside architecture of the Trinity Church look awesome @KateZhechko . Other photos and descriptions are also great. Thanks for sharing this nice post. Regards.

Tagging here my friend LG** @OlgaKlimchik ,**feel free to read this post.
Thank you for introducing us the Trinity church and it’s history.
The church itself and the surroundings look gorgeous and peaceful. I was wondering about the neo-gothic style the church was built in. It is not a common style in your area, isn’t it?
I love that part of the story with the built-in eggs in the foundation
Thank you for your feedback and adding some information. I wish you’ll visit this nice place. By the way, thanks to lockdown a lot of tours are organized there
Indeed the architecture might be compared to the West European appearance.

Hi @KateZhechko ,
I highly recommend typing the @ sign and inserting the name of the local guide you are discussing with. Then he will clearly understand that the message is addressed to him and will be more willing to talk.
