Italy is my favorite travel destination. In addition to the most famous cities such as Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, there are a number of small towns with a rich history, which offer their charm and unique atmosphere for visitors.
Treviso is one of these places. For ordinary tourists, Treviso is usually the gateway to visit Venice. So far I have seen him this way until I got to know Ermes T - a local guide who lives in this town.
Ermes T organized the third annual Local Guides Wine Meetup in the city at the end of November. Since the meeting offered an interesting program with my favorite Connect guides, I did not hesitate for a long time and signed up for the meeting. I was looking forward to it very much because it was my first live meeting with local guides.
I arrived in Treviso on Friday afternoon. By bus 6, I took the airport to the city center. The first touch of the city when I got off the bus surprised me pleasantly. On my way to the hotel, I passed the periphery around the tree-lined canals with falling yellow leaves, reminding me of Impressionist paintings.
After staying at the “B&B Treviso” I immediately went on a walk to the city to capture the evening atmosphere around the canals.

When it got dark I sat down for coffee on the city center terrace and enjoyed the atmosphere of people returning from work to town for shopping and relaxation. On Corso del Popolo I got to Piazza del Signori, where I admired the architecture of the square with the tower, the portico and the statue of “Il monumento tereson”.

After the walk, I met in the dinner with guides Stella and Mondiparlelli in the pizzeria San Agostino. We tasted delicious pizza and Tiramisu and talked about our plans for the future. After dinner we walked around the city together and tired of traveling we went to our dorms.

When I arrived there we welcomed with guides from the Ukraine team - Natalka R, Valentine, Jane and Paul from Estonia. The largest group consisted of guides from the Italian team led by the organizer Ermes T and unmistakable Luigi Z - selfie. Some were accompanied by wives or children. The temperament of our Italian hosts hit us immediately and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the meeting despite the rainy weather.
We met representatives of all ages, different professions, beliefs, united with a common passion to meet new places, make new friends and share common values of humanity and responsibility for a better world around us for all. After a warm welcome we went to wander the city. First we stopped at the marketplace, where we admired the products of local farmers: fruits, vegetables, cheeses and other products that formed a colorful mosaic for our cameras.
Then we moved to the fortification of “Mura di Treviso” where we admired the sculpture of a cyclist, we crossed the “Giardino Dritti dei Bambini” canal to the city center, where we stopped to toast the traditional prosseca in “Prossecheria dell Oste”. There, as a large water, we dissolved the gloomy atmosphere of rainy weather and conjured smiles on the faces of customers.
