Trekking With My Dear Partner @Annisa1208 To Pos 1 Cigowong, Kuningan Regency

For those who like nature tourism in Kuningan Regency, you must be familiar with the name Cigowong, which is the first climbing post to Mount Ciremai via the Ipukan / Palutungan route. The road is fairly easy and can be reached within 1 to 2 hours. Along the way, we can meet the habitat of the Surili and Lutung Jawa. But remember, don’t feed them, guys, so we don’t change their habits of naturally foraging in the wild. Just enjoy the trip, take as many photos as you can, and don’t leave any trash behind. Eeeh, don’t forget to buy a ticket for the Cigowong Trekking, which is only 25k Rupiah.

Together with my beloved partner, @Annisa1208 , we departed from the Palutungan climbing gate around 7.30 am last Sunday, after buying two trekking tickets to Cigowong for 25 thousand rupiah per person. The morning air is still fresh and a little breezy. Slowly, we passed through the pine forest in the Ipukan camp area. The sound of birds chirping accompanied our journey. Until we arrived at the Surili Habitat, when suddenly we heard the sound of a wild boar snorting. Immediately we climbed the nearest tree and waited for the pig to pass. Luckily, the pigs didn’t show up and we continued on our way.

Just crossing the dry river, Annisa was surprised by a snake that crossed right in front of her. I calmed her down, and asked her to keep going and stay alert. Finally, at 9.15 am, we arrived at our destination, namely Pos 1 Cigowong. We rested at Warung Pak Nana, while ordering fried egg noodles and hot tea. It’s really nice to be able to enjoy those hot food and drinks after the journey. The natural atmosphere here definitely makes us feel at home.

Finally, after enjoying the atmosphere and taking enough photos, we decided to go back down. It’s been a fun trip for both of us. Will you follow in our footsteps?

Do :

  • Wear comfortable shoes for trekking
  • Just bring enough food
  • Bring personal medicine
  • Trekking poles are also recommended
  • Buy tickets

Don’t :

  • Leaving trash
  • Feed wildlife
  • Damaging trees

The following is a video clip of the journey from the climbing gate to Pos 1 Cigowong. Try watching it with the sounds in it. The sound that all explorers will always miss

this time it was not like other trekking, I was very impressed with the forest which was still very natural, the habitat was still awake, the sounds of various kinds of birds during the trekking seemed like they were welcoming us, continued to be greeted by wild boars, until we took shelter by climbing tree branches, greeted also a snake which surprised me a bit. thank you dear partner @br14n @ really a very exciting and fun experience. where next?

Thanks God,at that time @br14n succeed add a “Mushola” on Google Maps

What an experience and I love trekking too @br14n et @Anissa1208 (I somehow cannot tag her…). We did a lot of trekking here in New Zealand and it’s lovely indeed.

We just finished a Hooker valley track at Aoraki Mt. Cook in South Island of NZ

Looks like a lovely route you have here in Kuningan, Cirebon.

I have mentioned before to you right… that my grandpa is from Kuningan, Cirebon. The last time I came to Kuningan was too long a time ago, but in 2021, before heading to NZ, we drove to Cirebon and had a tour at 2 Keratons. I should share it here I guess!

And I am afraid of snakes as well, mas, so if I see one, I can be anxious as well.

This is really beautiful place @br14n . I visited Bali a few years back and really nice place. Hey, you can check my latest post here on a Crocodile Farm Visit. Thanks for sharing. I know Indonesia is full of nature and god gifted country.

Hi mbak @indahnuria

Great to see your photos. Maybe one day we will have to trek together into exotic forests. Since you are afraid of snakes, feel safe with me. I can handle them well and carefully

Hello @sumanbd

Thank you for appreciating, I will also stop by your post.

sounds like a plan @br14n . I plan to explore more but stay away from the snakes hehehe. Good to know you can handle them well.

You know what… the good thing about trekking in NZ is that we DON’T have venomous or dangerous animals here. So I can safely trekking without worrying about snakes and others…
