Travel to the moon stats

Finally, this feature is back! Google Map is now showing the total distance I travelled, and compare to the distance between my way to the moon.

I can’t remember when this feature is suspended (it was in location history settings?) and why, but anyway, it’s back now.

How far for you travel to the moon? Anyone can share how is it look like when reached to the moon?

A rocket to the moon?

Here are my steps. And how have you walked 110,000km more than I have? How long have you been a Local Guide/mapper for? I do enjoy the feature though, showing how much I’ve walked. I don’t think the position of rocket changes though as you get closer, but I really would like to see someone who has reached the moon.

Thanks for sharing Brett!

I think is not only counting walking, but all kind of transportation.

Wow @BishowvijayaP ! You are quite hilarious!

Just you wait, I will be going to the moon soon enough, but it might actually be a different type of moon. :stuck_out_tongue:

Congratulations for reaching to the your type of moon @Briggs .

I have also launched the rocket to reach that type of moon. But I am unsure when I will reach there.

I think they DO count flying.

As I am from Hong Kong, and Hong Kong in a tiny city. For last month, I moved 7,500 km to the moon, and if only counting land transport, I don’t think I can travel that much.

But last time when I flew to San francisco, they doesn’t count that 11,087 km, so I am confused too.

You will have to work hard to get there. Maybe your grand grand children! (or maybe them will be able to get there in 2 minutes in a lightning fast spaceship)

I think it would not be too hard. Now I have done one third of the distance. I hope I can get there in my lifetime. Have to travel a lot though

It’s interesting that now your spaceship it’s between Moon and Mars. I didn’t noticed that

I still have to go 52k km to moon :frowning:

@besantcapri that’s awesome, I am not sure why my count keep changing, sometimes more closer to the moon, sometimes even far from the moon.

Do you mind share your mode of transport? Are those transportation are recorded in timeline?

I don’t know if there is a report showing the transport mode. If you know where I can get that, I will gladly share it.

I’m flying a lot. Probably my long haul flights made me to get there. We just had a work project in the Caribbean for 6 months, and had to travel several times between Europe and the Caribbean

This is how my history looks like (since I’m using google maps)

This stats are all based on the data recorded in Timeline (https://www.google.com/maps/timeline )

Here is mine too.
