Travel Nigeria: New Visa Policy

Over the years visiting Nigeria was a tough take maybe tougher than the Nigerian hair. Business travellers and tourist had it rough getting visas to enter the country.

One clear case, was that of a British friend who lived in Lagos for several years but couldn’t get all his families down here for his wedding. Mark had no option to move it to Zanzibar. He later named his beach house Lil’ Zanzibar.

Many Nigerians talk about the stress of getting foreign visas but most of us didn’t know it was even worse for applicants coming to our country. The recent increment on visa fees by the U.S embassy even made it clearer that Nigeria charged more for its visa. The reciprocity from the U.S Government obviously led the Nigerian government to review its visa policies.

Today, you can visit Nigeria with the hope of having visa on arrival. Entrepreneurs and other African Citizens are primary beneficiaries of this new visa regime.

Why not take advantage of this opportunity to see Lagos, Abuja, Calabar and Owerri? You can tour the Oguta Lake, Obudu Mountain Resort , Zuma Rock and Lagos Lagoon.

Nigeria is a large and beautiful country with good-hearted people.

Come experience Africa’s most populous nation! Our food, culture and music have distinctive styles. @TraciC and @TiffanyBnyc can testify.

Now we can host regional and continent-wide meetups. What do you think African Local Guides?

Hi @EmekaUlor thank you for sharing this useful news, I did not know how hard it was to get visa to enter your country before, it was truly frustrating. I am sure now everyone is relieved and happy for this great news. I am not sure if we from South Africa require visa to enter your country, I remember hearing some rumors that other African countries don’t need a visa to visit each other, is that true or they are still working on it?

For our regional or continent meetups, it will be more easy for us to travel and enter your country. Cheers!

While I was only in Abuja for a very short time (as you know, @EmekaUlor ), my time with you, @HelloSamsonR and others was so lovely. I heard someone on TV mention jollof rice and my mouth watered!

Hi @EmekaUlor , you are very correct, while NIGERIA is a great country, there are many things making life difficult here. Thank God there is a review now. I will sure like to host an international meet up someday.

@Raphael-Mahumane @Gloire_Congo @Mpumi

I want to believe we can take meet up to another level; As our European Local Guides counterparts do.
