How can we help Google Maps get access to transport information? In Greece at first Google Maps had the data, then the transport company (I think) stopped allowing it in order to promote their (pretty mediocre) app, now Google Maps has buses (which nobody uses) but no metro (which all tourists need).
Can we as local guides help apply pressure somewhere?
Not sure if there is a way to make pressure, @AlexanderChalkidis , because the transportation layer is managed by the company through the Transit program
I’ve tried to replicate the issue, and you are right. Even if the metro route is visible in Maps, when I have checked the direction between two stations of the subway, Maps is addressing me to the bus (see the second screenshot). I’ve also tried to simulate the same trip in rush hours, with no changes.
Just a doubt. Was the Metro closed in some moment of the year due to the Covid pandemic? If so, probably we only need to inform the transportation company to update the status
