Transferring Accounts / Transferring Reviews

Hey all,
as I suppose many of you, I have been reviewing now for a while and I really like it. I do not only see this as rating places, but also as keeping track of my life.

However, I do have an issue by now. I started reviewing via the Google Account of my Company (Google Workspace - connected with Domain) and the Company is going out of business - this leads to me loosing my account.

I was looking for possibilities to transfer my reviews from the company account to a personal Google account, but could not find any help.

Any advice is highly appreciated!

Thank you!

Sorry this is not possible.

Hi @daniel6 , first of all, welcome to Connect.
Unfortunately transferring your contributions in Google Maps from an account to another is not possible.
As you can read in the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions - Google Maps HelpContributions to Google Maps must originate from a single Google account to count towards benefits and cannot be transferred between owned accounts.”
I suggest a change long time ago, but it wasn’t accepted/applied.
That’s why it’s strongly suggested to use a free personal account, instead of an account owned by someone else, that can be deleted if we change our job, or we finish our school.
You can download most of the contents stored in your account using https://takeout.google.com/?pli=1 , but after that you will have to delete them manually before the account is deleted and to re-upload them with your new account.
Deleting photos and reviews uploaded previously is necessary to avoid a duplication of the contents.

Hi @anon6603826

Our Maps accounts are linked to our Google account. The Google account can be used internationally and is linked to your Email address and not your phone number.

But I agree that paying for internet can be super costly unless you are very careful.

Have your phone connected to wifi and I think you will be fine confirm your identity independently of your current phone number. This issue is related to Google Accounts and not the Local guide program/Maps.

I’m sorry this did not work well.
