Old Dhaka has its own glory of food. The glory for hundreds of years. Food lovers are attracted to the place for different types of tasteful food. Mutton Biryani, Lacchi, Chicken/Mutton/Beef Chaap, Tahari, etc are the most popular menu.
Chicken chaap is a kind of Tandoori Chicken. Many of Old Dhaka’s restaurant serves this menu. But for Chicken Chaap, “Bismillah Kebab Ghar” has a popularity. They make the best Chicken Chaap in the town.
People from near or far come here to taste this. It is also attractive to the Tourist. They’ve others menu but chicken chaap is popular. It is usual to wait to get a seat but nobody minds. The price of a single Chicken Chaap is 90 tk. They also serve Paratha at 5 tk per pcs and salad at free of charge.
The kitchen of Bismillah set in a side of its area. They make foods in front of customers’ eyes. Though this is a very narrow area and they have to serve a huge amount of customers, the kitchen looks a little unhealthy.
After having Bismillah’s Chaap some people want “Paan Masala”. It is like a dessert. And you get a different flavor of “Paan Masala” in front of the restaurant.
Hi @JordanSB , It is nice to see your interest in old Dhaka food. I’m telling you in detail.
If you want to have dinner, you can try #Kacchi_Biriyani, #Nannar_Mutton_Biriyani or #Hazi_Biriyani as a savoy dish. After the meal, you can try sweets at #Moron_Chan_Sweets, #Alauddins_Sweets. They serve some delicious sweets. But if you want real bangali flavor, you must find someone’s house. Cause, no such food can be cooked at a restaurant. (I’m inviting you to my house!)
You can try #Lacchi as dessert. Lacchi is best to drink in old Dhaka.
