This is a major announcement. Thank you everyone who is actively participating on TRAC 2026. We hope you are all Very motivated !!! I am anyway.
Now we all know that there is a bit of discrepancies regarding the approval rate. We are well aware that people like @MarcoDavoli the statistician himself is affected. @Lukas_B is too, @ErmesT himself is affected which isn’t a great thing. We know that some other local guides are getting good approval rate and we are quite happy. Please keep on adding and keep the green flag of TRAC flying.
Now what? We want to have our facts and figures on adding roads straight. What I mean is, we want to have a clear record of our activities,
Daily Roads Added.
Daily Road Approved.
These are the 2 essential figures we want to use to be able to know for sure what the individual approval rate is. Moreso what our général approval rate on TRAC 2026 is. We can’t Just be assuming and supposing. We want to be able to prove it with figures and facts.
Perhaps this record of data will also help the team to help us. We are ready to give them all the necessary data to work with, if they need it.
This is optional but we will be happy for as many volunteers as possible. You’re not under any obligations or pressure to add more than usual. Even if it’s a road a day or 10 per week it’s ok just record it.
What should I do then to participate?
Please kindly get in touch with @MarcoDavoli here on connect on this post or PM
Marco has a spread sheet which he can grant you access to record your figures if you are interested. Note that it’s not compulsory. If you are too busy and don’t feel like it, kindly disregard this topic. If you are interested then get on touch with him. Thanks for always supporting us and improving Google Maps.
Happy guiding
Happy mapping
Cheers
N.B All the team leaders please kindly take note and inform your teammates. Thanks
we do know that some lucky person claim to have 50, 60, 80% of approval.
The main issue is not those 2,3 people are the other hundreds of people that are complaining.
The real problem is simple: if I spend 2 hours a day adding roads and only 15 minutes are good / approved… WHY? Why should I spend my time here?
All Connect Moderator are discussing this topic with Googlers/Google but this could be the really first time we can show then a real data.
Since the October the 13 I have accumulated more than 23167 roads pending and more than. 18.000 are in the >90 days so… definitely lost.
So, if you speed up and submit 1000 roads a day I lost 18 days…
Take care.
Ciao
Ps. I do not forget to send you my under the tree and shadow suggestions.,
Hi Captain @SholaIB,
Thank you so much for the guidance and encouragement regarding the road edits. It has truly made a difference in my approach.
I wanted to share a bit about my current rhythm. Professionally, I’m a full-time sales employee, which usually means 10 to 12-hour workdays, and I’m fully committed to working through the weekends as well.
Despite that heavy schedule, I’ve set a personal goal to complete at least 150 road edits daily for TRAC 2026. I’ve also decided to focus only on my current city in the territory of Portugal to ensure local accuracy.
I think you’ll be surprised by my recent progress:
@WilfriedB teach me how to calculate my edits with paython code. I didn’t test it yet, I think its time for it. It works with the tool you set up recently.
I will calculate my data and update the Excel file.
Not that I am aware of @MarcoDavoli. I scroll through the My Contributions → Edits, then manually copy the underlying HTML. My Python script extract information, converts it to CSV and copies to clipboard. Then I paste the CSV into a spreadsheet, which allows me to compare to previous versions and detect status changes, e.g from pending to rejected or accepted.
I can share the script with you, but very likely it needs to be modified, because some parts and depended on the language used for the Maps user interface.
A while ago, I shared the script with some other local guides, but didn’t get any feedback yet, if they got it to work.
What exactly are we trying to achieve with this complexity? Every day I make a note of how many roads I draw, and every day I make a note of how many approval emails I receive. Does it require more than that??
I’ve been doing this since the beginning of TRAC2024, and this year of course TRAC started again on March 1st. I see the spreadsheet sent out by @MarcoDavoli starts from March 20th, so I copied my info from 20th to 26th to get that project going.
