TRAC 2026: Team Singapore Open Discussions

That is definitely frustrating! You could maybe add a photo sphere there for Road Mapper

Cảm ơn, tôi đã bắt đầu thêm đường ở Ấn Độ. Ở đây có quá nhiều con đường cần được thêm. Tôi hy vọng tôi sẽ thành công.

Great initiative, @JustJake!

Opening up your team discussions like this truly reflects the spirit of the Local Guides community—collaborative, transparent, and inclusive. It’s inspiring to see how Team Singapore is not just focusing on performance in TRAC 2026, but also on knowledge sharing and community building.

These behind-the-scenes insights are incredibly valuable, especially for new Roaders who often wonder how experienced contributors plan, coordinate, and stay motivated. I’m sure many will learn a lot from this open exchange.

Also, loved the humor—“smoke signals from Marco’s island” made me smile! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Looking forward to following this thread and picking up some new mapping strategies along the way. Wishing Team Singapore continued success in TRAC 2026! :rocket:

Thank you, @SharmaK! It looks like you’re doing quite well already. Great work!

OK Team Singapore - Update Time!

I just pulled stats from @MarcoDavoli’s site. We are currently in 2nd place, with an incredible 16,889 roads approved! Whoa :exploding_head:
@anhcauduong67, @dahboss, & @Jalalus are our TOP 3 Roaders with over 2,000 roads each!

As this is NOT a competition, I won’t put any context into the fact that we’re only 2,718 roads behind Team Dublin. We can easily catch up.

A few on Team Singapore have not yet managed to get any roads approved. I implore you to ask questions here, get advice, and keep on trying. I would love to see everyone on the team with at least 1 road!

–WE ARE HERE TO HELP – Get engaged in the chat. I’m sure some of your teammates have a few locations we can spare to get you going.

I’m posting this in the public space because we agreed to air our dirty laundry in full view of Connect. I can tell you that these same conversations are happening privately on the other teams quite often. This is what TRAC is all about: teamwork, encouragement, and just a touch of competition.

LET’S GO!

Wow!! That’s great news. I haven’t added 2000 more in these few weeks, but I’m happy with the improved approval rate in recent days.

This is nice

In just 5 Days, we’ve shrunk the lead of Team Dublin to just 1,630! That’s down from 2,718. Keep up the hard work!

Hi,

I have received approval for edit on 25th of January 2026. Also from Feb and March.

Something is going on.

Regards

Today I received two for March 31st and one for March 5th. Maybe Google is finally going back and approving earlier edits.

I just received a January approval today. That’s interesting. It was just inside the 90-day cutoff, but why now?

TEAM UPDATE!

We’ve made a huge increase of 2,429 roads since April 21st! We’ve now gotten 29,383 roads approved. WOW!

We are in second place behind Team Dublin.

And their lead has grown quite a bit. We now need 5,042 approvals to catch up. Notice I’m not saying that we need to draw 5,042 roads. We ALL know that it takes many many more roads drawn to get that many approved.

Tell us what’s working for YOU.

Share your tips, please, so the team can get on board. In the last week, @khmansour1, @anhcauduong67, and @Designer_Biswajit have had the biggest increases.

  • What’s your secret/strategy?
  • Are you seeing lots of older contributions finally getting approved?
  • Are you drawing in your home country or outside?

I’m #5 on the growth list since last week. I’ve been focused in the USA (home) and many in Arizona (home). Most of my approvals are coming the day after. I see such a low approval rate, 50% would be a stretch. If a road isn’t approved the next day it seems to just get stuck. Only a few older roads are being approved for me each day. I’m still focused mainly on walking and biking paths; BUT, I’ve been testing out roads in my old list spots to see if I’d get the same quick turnaround approval. That answer was/is NO. However, I am seeing some real roads get cleared.

Keep it going, Team! Let’s help each other out here and share what’s working and what you’ve tried that isn’t working. There has to be a way to break through the backlog of approvals!

-JJ

My approval rate is still relatively low - approximately 15%. That’s a big improvement on the previous 4%. Whenever I get approved roads, my strategy is to draw more roads in the same country or area. Right now, I’m getting my best results from India. Approvals are coming quickly, and I haven’t seen many older listings with late acceptance.

Hello @JustJake @tony_b @anhcauduong67 :folded_hands:
I used to draw roads in almost all the countries of the world (Countries whose roads were not on maps). When I saw that I was not getting equal approval in all the countries, I changed my destination. Currently, I am drawing roads in my neighboring countries (India, Myanmar). Now I am getting quite good approval (about 70-80%).
Good luck to everyone.

Thanks @Nhà thiết kế_Biswajit quả thật Myanmar còn nhiều con đường phải thêm, tôi đang dự tính “làm việc” tại đây, hy vọng sẽ được chấp thuận cao.

Hi,

For me I started to use java script tools and I have tune them to my needs. Like automatic scrolling and keyboard shortcut.

It triple my edits per day.

I advise you all to use them desktop only.

I have also chang my strategy to add small segments " don’t drage the screen" stopping before every tree or shadow. Wait for approval then drow over the tree or shadow, wait for second approval and then continue.

Desert land gives high approval rate than mountain roads.

I use lists for my edits and I left my edits for one day to be approved and third day I continue edit approved ones.

I will create new video and I advise you to whatch my already uploaded ones on YouTube. My channel khmansour1.

Regards

This is an interesting thought. If you adjust a road, it gets counted as an ‘Edit’ in your stats, but I’d think there is a higher likelihood of approval since the road is already established and you’re just fixing it. If you were to delete ‘bad’ roads and redraw them correctly, you should get an Edit and a Road count in your stats.

If you decide to test it out, please let us know what you find!

I’ve been using the scripts posted to Connect for months, and they truly are a game-changer! My production went up quite a bit, too.

Alright Team. Obviously, we have no idea who is working in what area unless your user name happens to be “someone else.” But, I wanted to share something I found so we can start a dialog on what is good and/or bad about this situation.

Look here at this screenshot:

This is a SINGLE ENTRY that extends even further below the screenshot.

How about this one done as a SINGLE ENTRY

This is the work of a TRUE Roader. The line work and precision are impeccable.

I know I get super excited when I find a wide open grid like this, but what do y’all think? How would you approach this area differently?
