The specific icon for tourist attractions on Google Maps (and some other platforms) is one of the nice features that makes more people pay attention and visit those destinations.
But now it seems Google has stopped showing these icons on the map, and I hope this is just a temporary change or even a bug.
The icon is still visible only if the place is marked as closed.
By chance, the Golestan Palace—one of the few places in Iran that has a specific icon—was temporarily closed and just reopened today. It will accept visitors from tomorrow, so its icon is still visible. I marked it as open, but it takes a few hours to show on Maps.
Do you see the same? What are your thoughts on this case?
