Hello Guides,
All right with you?
Today I came to show you a little bit of my tour of Toronto Island (https://goo.gl/maps/ipna3Jt9Fp5Wf8Lh6 ) (an island located across the river from Toronto).
This weekend there was the International Dragon Racer, a canoeing race with several teams, and we took the opportunity to get to know the island.
To get to the other side of the island, you can use the ferry, which currently costs 10 Canadian dollars per person (children under three years old do not pay) and the return trip is free, or if you want to arrive faster, you can use the taxi boats that cost an average of 12 Canadian dollars per person and children under three years old do not pay. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes and the taxis depend on the location of the boats (the return trip with the taxis is paid, so it is important to plan your trip).
The island has a great structure for various activities, has a public park for picnics and barbecue facilities, has a lost and found post (including for missing persons), has police security, an area with an amusement park ( tickets are charged at a specific booth), splash area which is free, the coastal part where boats and the beach are and many other activities.
All areas of the park have road areas for walking, serving all pedestrians, including people with disabilities. Upon arrival on the island, in the case of people with disabilities and families with children using baby strollers, the boat teams provide all the assistance.
The island has several points with physical and chemical toilets, all of them adapted to serve people with disabilities.
In addition to the events that take place in spring and summer, the island has a structure with some restaurants like Subway and some pizzerias, as well as ice cream carts.
The tour is incredible, being able to see the side, the birds and other animals, besides being fun for everyone.
It is very worth knowing.
Hugs and have fun!
