إضافة الهجر والقرى على خرائط قوقل

السلام عليكم

أنا في كوني من أصحاب الرحلات البرية ، كثيراً ما أمر في هجر وقرى في شمال المملكة العربية السعودية ولا أجد لها اسم على خرائط قوقل. أرجوا الاهتمام بهذا الأمر وأنا على استعداد أن أزودكم بأسامي تلك القرى لإضافتها في الخرائط لكي تكون دليل لبعض المسافرين او التائهين في الصحراء

You can add these villages on the maps as it’s the role of google local guides to improve the maps to help people.

Local Guides are not trusted to add geographic features, villages, cities, rail roads etc.

@Ban,

If you have access to official maps from local or national authorities showing a village with both the name and the street by street border of the village. Then you can bring it up in the Google Maps Help Community.

We cannot make edits to add a village.

but who has the authority to add these villages if they are not found on the maps ? Governmental authorities of the country ?

The problem is that Google Maps will need some proper documentation that can be archived with such changes.

Only staff can edit the layer with geographical features. Imagine if we could remove an airport, rename a country or change national borders between countries. It could quickly turn into a big mess.

Often official Maps are not properly updated. We have seen numerous cases where a village is missing. And if the official maps are not correct, staff will and cannot not trust individuals.

So the correct steps are often to influence the relevant local authorities to fix their official Maps.

If the do so. They can also partner with Google Maps so future changes automatically and immediately show up on Google Maps.

شوف هو ممنوع اضافة اسماء القرى والمحافظات بس انا اقترح عليك حاجة. لو تظيف مساجد القرى والمسجد الكبير تسميه بأسم القرية اذا ما في اسم للمسجد، او تظيف اسم المسجد عادي بإسمه لكن في العنوان تكتب اسم القرية والعزلة والمديرية والمحافظة.

اعتقد هكذا تكون انت ما خالفت قوانين قوقل وظفت المعلومة.

you haven’t violated Google’s rules, you’ve used the information.

Well, @khmansour1 , in effect this is against the policies for naming the listings, and it’s also one way to add mess on Maps. A lot of photos and reviews are added in the wrong place just for that reason. This is a mosque in a village. There is no name for the village in google. I add this mosque my self its name is correct. But to solve our problem I add the name of the village in the address. Is it against google roles?

The name of the mosque Ali bin Abi Taleb.

Village name Hajar Okash
District Bany Matar
Governate Mohafathat Sanaa
Country Yemen

All in the address in arabic.

In addition there is no village without a mosque and some villages are quite small maximum 3-10 houses. The mosque is for the village it doesn’t have a name its the village mosque.

Your advice please.

Using the list of categories with some creativity or adding extra info in the name field or using names that are not the real names is always a no-go on Maps.

As I suggested above the best solution is to encourage your local authorities to get their Maps updated so it is possible to request the needed addition via the Google Maps Help Community or the geo-data-parthership program.

The rules for naming a listing can be found on the GBP help page: Guidelines for representing your business on Google - Google Business Profile Help
The same rules applies also for non claimed listings, and not only for businesses.

• The Core Rule: The name must exactly reflect the listing real-world name
• Forbidden Elements (The “No” Rules): Google specifically states that you cannot include “Location information, such as neighborhood, city, or street name” in the name field unless it is part of the official, real-world title.
• Real-World Evidence: If the mosque’s actual physical sign on the building does not include the village name, adding it to Google Maps is a direct violation.

but for address I think we can put the name of the village.

I have done it many times adding village, district, governorate in the address.

This is the arabic page for GBP.

But if its wrong I will stop.

The point is, @khmansour1 , if they type that address in Google Maps, and the village in Google Maps doesn’t exist, will a delivery service able to find the place?
If not, it doesn’t make sense to add information that are basically useless.
The solution provided by Google when a village, or a street name and number, is not available in Google Maps, is to use a Plus code instead.

I am grateful for your kindness, patience, enrichment of the subject, vast knowledge and encouraging/ advising us do the correct action even though its against our honest pure desiger “adding valuable knowledge to the map”.

Google did amazing thing all governorate, district boundaries layers exist in my country

And its correct I don’t know how did the get the correct information!

And some villages exist. Previously it was open and I add myself some villages.
But frankly Google is wright to prevent us as our knowledge is not like official directory.

Most likely, the official location names and area borders were shared electronically with Google Maps.

But the sources are normally not publicly available.
