Привет всем! Новый населённый пункт, район Гокдепе, Ахалский велаят, Туркменистан. Как создать границы нового населённого пункта под названием “KÖPETDAGYÑ ÝALKYMY”
Hello @bayram_annageldi,
Thank you for reaching out. There are certain items on Google Maps which you cannot edit, such as landmarks, established points of interest or names of cities/towns. Only Google can edit these. You can always send feedback and suggest your changes through Google Maps.
Hello everyone,
There is a new residential settlement in Gökdepe District, Ahal Region, Turkmenistan, officially named “Köpetdagyň Ýalkymy”.
This settlement already exists physically. Houses, roads and infrastructure can be clearly seen on Google Maps satellite imagery. However, the settlement does not yet have a proper visible area boundary and official settlement label on Google Maps.
This is not a business, private place, or ordinary point of interest. It is an official residential settlement / populated area.
I understand that Local Guides may not be able to create or edit official administrative boundaries directly. Could you please advise what the correct procedure is for requesting Google Maps to add the official boundary and name of this settlement?
Should this be submitted through “Send feedback” in Google Maps, through a public post here, or by providing official information to Google Maps moderators?
I can provide screenshots, coordinates, satellite imagery, and any available official information if required.
My goal is to help improve Google Maps accuracy in Turkmenistan and make this settlement correctly visible on the map.
Thank you for your guidance.

Hi @bayram_annageldi , welcome to Connect, and thank you for asking.
There are at least 3 possible ways to update that kind of information in Google Maps, with different levels of difficulty and reaction time:
The way suggested by @MoniDi in your first post
Pros: it is easy to submit
Cons: the reaction time could be quite long. Google will have to check the issue, investigate and acquire the official documents, and modify Maps accordingly. It may takes several months.
The way suggested by @NareshDarji
Pros: it’s a bit faster
Cons: you will have to provide to the community a detailed description of the issue and a link to an official and publicly accessible Maps issued by a Local Authority. Google will have to check and update the Maps accordingly
The third option is to get in touch with the Local Authorities, for them to submit the cartography in Google Maps. Local Authorities have a preferential channel through the
Pros: the changes are applied very quickly
Cons: you will have to reach out to the local authorities, and to show them the link shared above, explaining that using the “partner with Google” feature they can keep the area always updated in Google Maps.
