I think the focus currently is on adding missing roads and not on fixing street names. I don’t recall being able to fix any street names. So I decided to not event try (not to waste my time).

Unfortunately it is not so easy, especially with Road Names.
Google Maps rely on digital Official documents issued by a Local Authority for modifying the name of a road, or documentation acquired directly by them, like the road name clearly visible on Street View.
Every other source, including
is totally useless to have your edit approved.
If you can kindly share the link of your edit positions, we can make a check to see if Street View is available in the area and if there are road names visible in there.
There are better options to fix the issue quickly:
Have the updated Cartography uploaded in Google Maps directly by the local Authorities. It can be done through the Maps Content Partners program. The update is very quick.
report the issue to the Google Maps Community providing the link to an official Cartography issued by a Local Authority and publicly accessible. The product experts will check the documentation and eventually escalate it to the team to fix it.
P.S.: You cannot edit boundaries, they can be edited only by Google. You can report them following the steps mentioned above. Can you kindly explain what you mean?
