Hello,

I am a Local Guide Level 6 contributing to mapping rural areas in Herat province to improve navigation for local communities.

I am requesting to add the name “Jadeh Hossein Abad Shomali” (جاده حسین آباد شمالی) to an existing unnamed two-way paved road in Hossein Abad village.

Details:

  • Road type: Two-way paved rural road
  • Starting point: North of Hossein Abad village, at the intersection with “Jadeh Hossein Abad Markazi” and “Jadeh Hossein Abad Gharbi”
  • Route: Passes through agricultural lands and residential houses
  • Ending point: Connects to Khwaja Abdullah Mosri Junubi main road
  • Nearby locations: Qaria Haji Faiz Mohammad Khan, Qaria Khan, Khwaja Abdullah Mosri High School
  • Importance: This is the only access route to the high school and several neighboring villages.

Evidence:

Since there are no official street signs in this rural area, the name is based on widely recognized local usage, consistent with nearby approved road names.

To update the name of a street or road, please open the Google Maps app and navigate to the Contribute tab. Select Update Road, then choose the Other category. Next, carefully select the entire length of the road you wish to name or rename, from its starting point to its end. After accurately marking the road segment on the map, enter the desired official or commonly recognized name. Finally, submit your changes for review by the moderation team.
