2. Tao Dan Park- 57 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh
- With an area of 10 hectares, Tao Dan Park is considered the βgreen lungβ of Ho Chi Minh City, and also one of the largest public parks here. It has over 100 types of herbal plants, a hundred of 100-years old trees, and many different types of flowers etc.
- The locals usually come to Tao Dan for fresh air, quiet space and exercises such as jogging and running. Students love coming here for group outdoor activities. Tao Dan is also a kid-friendly park due to its big playground for children. You can also find a lot of different Pokemons here (haha). In addition, the park has many small pavilions that rescue you from the hot sun.
- There are different exhibitions held at Tao Dan throughout the year, for example, the spring flower exhibitions a few weeks before every Lunar New Year. In the central of the park, you can find a replica of a Cham temple, and Hung shrine (Hung was one of Vietnamese dynasty)
2. Le Thi Rieng Park β 875 Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, Ward 7, District 10, Ho Chi Minh
- The park is an area of 8 hectares with 80% of it is covered with green hills, big trees, and ornamental flower In the central of the park, there is a large lake with many rows of green willow droops. The park also has a memorial board and a traditional house where people can come to commemorate the merits of the heroic martyrs. Behind the memorials board and traditional house, there is a cafΓ© and a big pond for fishing enthusiasts.
- Le Thi Rieng park is a great place to do different activities including marathon, badminton, Jianzi etc. It is also a popular place for elderly people to practice nursing, and high school students to do their physical exercises.
- In addition, the park has a large swimming pool with separate areas for adults and children; a bookstore on the right side of the park; Tho Trang (White Rabbit) amusement park for children on the left, as well as separate area for children who love rollerblading. Le Thi Rieng is a great park to take your family here for a nice day out.
3. September 23rd Park β Quach Thi Trang Roundabout, Le Lai Street, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1
- Located in the central of Ho Chi Minh City, September 23rd Park offers a quiet and leafy path from the Ben Thanh Market to the backpacker district of Pham Ngu Lao/Bui Vien. There is a Sense Market built under the park; a lotus lake in the central of the park; and a Pink Lotus stage, where many different cultural shows and art activities take place.
- September 23rd Park is close to the expat area (Pham Ngu Lao Street, De Tham Street, Bui Vien Street), so it is popular for Vietnamese students to come and make friends with foreigners, as well as practice their English. There are a variety of activities that you can do here including strolling through the park with a cup of coffee; taking your kids here for a picnic day; spoiling your tummy with the local treats from the food stalls around the edges of the park; and many other activities such as jogging, badminton, practicing kung-fu, aerobics, yoga and dancing. You can also find a lot of exercise equipment here.
- The park is a great place for different festivals such as cherry blossom festival, and international culinary festival etc. In addition, you will find no inconvenience coming here with a wheelchair.
4. Thong Nhat Park β Intersection of Le Duan and Pasteur Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
- Located at the heart of District 1, Thong Nhat Park is right in front of the Independence Palace, and a few minutes waking to Notre Dame Cathedral and the Youth Cultural House. You can easily access the park either by Alexandre De Rhodes (who invented the Vietnamese alphabet) street and Han Thuyen (who is considered to be the developer and disseminator of Vietnamese Nom script) street.
- Thong Nhat Park has 4 clusters of parks adjacent to each other, divided into checkers by Le Duan Street and Pasteur Street. The park is a very popular gathering place for student and young people. They like coming here to chill, have street coffee, play music, sing together, practice speaking English, and many other team activities. During night time, you might find a lot of souvenir and candy young sellers around the park.
- In addition, regular cultural events are held here to celebrate major events of Viet Nam such as Reunification Day and Independence Day.
5. Le Van Tam Park β Vo Thi Sau Street, Da Kao Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
- Le Van Tam park is full of with trees and harmonious flower gardens locating between four street, Hai Ba Trung, Dien Bien Phu, Vo Thi Sau and Phan Liem.
- Like many other parks, Le Van Tam park is another great place for the locals to come and do health exercises. You can also take your kids here for any outdoor activities like cycling and running, or just have fun at the integrated playground for children. In the afternoon, you will find a lot of people playing sports such as soccer, badminton, volleyball etc. Feel free to join the them, Vietnamese are very welcoming. 6. Hoang Van Thu Park - Phan Dinh Giot Street, Ward 1, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City
- Hoang Van Thu Park is located very near Tan Son Nhat airport, surrounded by Hoang Van Thu, Truong Son and Nguyen Van Troi streets. It has 2 zones A and B separated by Hoang Van Thu Street. There is a beautiful and spacious footbridge for you to easily move between the two zones, or maybe just to take a look at the busy Hoang Van Thu Street below.
- You can easily find a lot of people coming to the park to practice their photography techniques; and elderly people who like coming here for morning street coffee, reading newspapers, and relaxing. On the weekend, there are many groups of Scouts doing a variety of outdoor activities. Parents often take their children to this park for jogging, running or playing badminton. Hoang Van Thu park is especially popular for many bird lovers to come and share their bird passion.
7. Gia Dinh Park β Ward 9, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City
- Gia Dinh Park is a large green park in Go Vap District. It is considered another lung of the city. The park has a fairly spacious and grand footbridge across above the road to connect its two separate parts. There are small houses around the park for anyone who like a break or dance practice.
- Gia Dinh park has many large grass areas where you can play soccer, Jianzi, rollerblading, cycling. You are free to use the parkβs public exercise equipment. Your children will love to come here for the large sand playground with a lot of different recreation The park is also famous about Fairtrade festivals, flowers festivals and different local cultural activities.
