Hello,
i created a new POI with 5 words and total length of 56 characters.
I also added a picture to the new POI.
It was accepted immediately but when i open the POI and the picture then it shows “Unbenannt” instead of the POI-name.
Anyone else who has created a POI with long name?
Just wait a day or 2
Meanwhile i changed the name manually to a new name.
But i reuploaded the picture to check back in 3 days.
But normally when the pictures appears then there is always also the text.
For testing i changed the “Unbenannt” into a very long text and there i see the same behaviour that it cuts the text at ~20 characters.
I think there is a check “if >20 chars then set to Unbenannt”

This is the POI. (Currently 3 identical pictures i this POI)
You can try to add a dummy picture to this POI and see what happens.
Hello @Yesingen,
according to my experience, this is not related to the length of the name. Instead @Steve_UK is correct saying “Just wait a day or 2”. The media picks up the name at least a day after creating the POI, but you can update the name of the photo using the smartphone app.
This was not place link. Please share valid link of place.
I was able to open the place.
Very new places takes time to reach all the Maps servers. So waiting is a very good idea.
I noticed you uploaded the same photo 3 times. This can lead to sanctions. Please delete 2 of them ASAP.
The place can easily get removed as the name you decided on is a description (Old fountain at the historic vineyard) and not a “real” name. Further. I think your use of the category “Historical landmark” is overly creative. When the exact category is not in the list of categories on Maps, this is a sign that such places should not be added to Google Maps.
All the best
Yes, it was replaced now @MortenCopenhagen
@MortenCopenhagen the category in germany is “historische Sehenswürdigkeit” = historical sight.
It is not a “landmark” as in your translation but a famos sight here.
The three pictures are all different. This is only for tests with the title. Two will be removed later.
That was correct.
Today the “Unnamed” is replaced with correct name.
