I am a business attorney by trade, community servant at heart, and entrepreneur by insanity. I work on deals of extremely high dollar value and of great complexity at my law firm. I’ve spent much of my adult life balancing an intense professional life with a deep commitment to volunteering with community organizations focused on helping those less fortunate than others. Most people think I am a very serious person. But I have a confession to make. At my core I am a foodie and a world explorer! I love to eat, I love to travel (and to eat when I travel). And I LOVE to let people know about my eating and traveling experiences when I do.
My love for eating stems from family meals in my home growing up. Coming up working class, we rarely ate out, and using the term rare is probably generous. However, we did have a consistent routine of eating breakfast and dinner as a family, and we always took those opportunities to share about our day, talk about our experiences, make plans and bond. Meal time became very special to me. As an adult, I have carried that appreciation for meal time, especially with loved ones, friends and family, and with people I conduct business with. Having the best experience for the particular people I’m eating with is very important to me. So I do a considerable amount of reconnaissance before I choose a meal location, and the information provided on Google Maps has become my main place to find the data I need to get it just right.
In my more recent years I’ve had the good fortune of being able to travel the world quite a bit. And the intel gathered on Maps has been invaluable in ensuring my trips to foreign countries are safe, entertaining, filled with true local culture and not just tourist traps. I’ve been able to book in hotels and resorts in areas that have all things I want and need personally, in locations that afford me all the attractions, events and experiences I desire.
Having taken advantage of all the useful information on Maps regarding restaurants, lodging, attractions, transit, etc., I really understand the value of detailed curated information. So it brings me joy to tell others about the great dishes that can be ordered, wait times, and food specials a bar or restaurant has available. Knowing that a venue plays live music from 4-6pm on a Wednesday makes all the difference sometimes. Knowing what ground transit challenges you might face on a trip and suggestions for avoidance can mean the difference between a long-standing memory of joy and romance with a travel partner turned lover, and a traumatizing nightmare vacation that leads to a shattered friendship. I love sharing reservation requirements, lighting information, additional charges, wait staff service level, parking details. You name it, I’ll share it if I think it can benefit others to know.
I enjoy sharing anything regarding my experience that would help others better understand and navigate the world and Maps is my place of choice for doing so. I would absolutely cherish the opportunity to meet and connect with others who enjoy sharing with the world on Maps as well!
