As timeline is going away for all users. What are your opinions on this. Is there a campaign to pursue google to allow it or make it as per user preference.
The option to keep it in your device is not the greatest option. If they can store all the user data. Then it should have some cloud storage for this as well. What are your thoughts??
Hello @Exlporewithsingh ,
the title “Timeline Going Away” is not quite correct. It still there, only on the desktop it won’t exist anymore.
I don’t know, if the amount of storage needed n the mobile will be an issue, but the fact that I don’t see it on the desktop anymore disturbs me a lot. To make corrections, was much easier on the desktop and I see less details on the small display.
So, I agree, I don#t like the change neither.
I’ve seen the complaints, and I’m really a bit puzzled. Perhaps we’re all a bit different. The only time I ever looked at my Timeline was when Google sent me the monthly email about the places I’d been. I certainly am not missing it, as it was of no real use to me.
I enjoyed finding places which I visited few years back . It was some time easy to refer and share also with your friends for a trip to not a known location. That’s the main reason I loved it. Also the emails with our historic data are not a big thing but still enjoyed revisiting it.
Yes I understand but it’s almost similar to losing it . Many people have lost all of there timeline data it seems. Also it’s just keeping 90 days data if we do not take a backup.
For me, having a timeline saved for each device, rather than for the entire account, is a huge step backwards. In my case, when I reset my smartphone to factory settings, I lost all my saved data - despite making a copy of it, I had no way to import it after the reset.
