The Wild Wild West Stunt Show at Ramoji Film City Hyderabad

Ramji Film City is the prime attraction on the tour of Hyderabad in India.
It hosts several studios where sets of various Indian street scenes are built to give the same look and feel like the real ones.
You can see some amazing photos of the various film sets in this previous article.

Another attraction within the Ramji Film City is where the Wild Wild West of North America is set up. This was the era in US history during the 19th century, a period of the myth-making cowboy, gunslingers, and saloon madames that began after the Civil War in 1865 and ended around 1895.

The frontier area west of the Mississippi River during the late 1800s included the territories of Dakota, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Colorado. The untamed territories were noted for their lawlessness, which gave rise to wild, rowdy, unrestrained, disorderly, and unruly behavior.

The landscape was dotted with the typical 20th century American wooden houses, which are recreated in this part of the Ramoji Film City.

Plenty of opportunities exist for taking fun photos like this one where you can pose in the costume of a cowboy in the typical Mexican hat and diamond-shaped muffler just by standing behind the cutout and sticking out your neck through the hole.

There is also a stunt show where actors dressed up as cowboys simulate the Gunfight that happened at the O.K. Corral on Wednesday, 26-Oct-1881, in Tombstone, Arizona Territory wherein deputy marshall Wyatt Earp and his brothers Virgil Earp and Morgan Earp, with the support of Doc Holliday, confronted the Clanton Gang of outlaws and cowboys.

How to Reach

• Ramoji Film City is located 40 km from Hyderabad city center.
• Royal Travels is the official transporter for carrying tourists to the film city and runs 10 shuttle bus services for Ramoji Film City at 8.30 am, 9 am and 9.30 am from various locations in Hyderabad.
• Also, the Hyderabad Metro Rail provides connectivity from all Metro stations to the Ramoji Film City.
• The famous bus service Bestbus.in provides pick & drop bus transportation & cab booking services at just Rs.300 including 2-way travel.

• Apart from the movie sets, visitors who pay a minimum entry charge of Rs 1,250 can also visit the theme parks, amusement rides, adventure games, and shows.

Is this film studio still active nowadays, or it’s more of a touristic attraction? What kind of adventure games and attractive shows are there?

I have visited the Ouarzazate film studios in Morocco and the ones of Boyana in Sofia, Bulgaria. Both places were big and diverse in terms of decors and sets, was such an amazing experience! There weren’t any touristic attractions there, however a guide used to tell us which films were shot here and there.

That’s right @BorrisS . The Ramoji Film City is more like Boyana but is more buzzing and full of tourists all year.

There are various film sets, studios for about 18 TV channels in India, a training academy for acting, various theme gardens like a Japanese garden, various theme parks like a butterfly park or a bird park, a gaming zone, a dome theatre, and so on.

Visitors can witness and participate in the shooting of a film or a TV serial about which I will write a detailed article shortly.

Several hundred films have been shooted in this facility so far, the list is endless.

The film studios and facilities are closed currently and y trip description is from the past.
