THE VICTORY PARK

Today, I want to share with you a unique park in my city, Ufa. This park is arguable the largest in the city. It is a park that commemorates the victory of world war II . Built in gratitude to millions of soldiers that sacrificed their lives on battle field. The Victory Park.

The Victory Park is situated in a very special place in the city . It is found opposite the prestigious Ufa State Petroleum Technological University . It is straddled between the iconic and beautiful city central mosque, the Lala Tulpan Mosque . At the other side of it, is the Neftyanik Stadium (The Oil-men Stadium) which is home to Fc Ufa football club. Fc Ufa play in the Russian premiership and occasionally compete for spot in the UEFA Champions league. You can see it is an interesting location indeed.

How to get to the park

The best way to the park is to take a taxi directly from the airport or first take a bus to the city center and from there connect another bus going to the Neftyanik Stadium.

War Machines Exhibition.

The park also double as a forest park and you won’t be seeing outside not until come inside. I will also want to offer you a piece of advice, which is for you to wear clothes that could keep you warm. The weather is usually chilling even in summer. This may be due to the park location on a hill and weak sunlight penetration from above.

Once you passed through the entrance gate, It is better to go to the right-side.

There you will find your first unfamiliar sight.

There you will find Russian made :nesting_dolls: infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft tanks, self-propelled howitzer and other strange looking machines. This place is un-usually popular with children who climbed on the machines to play with .

The War Memorial

Further down the right lane, you will see the monument dedicated the proletariat who worked relentlessly to supply soldiers on the front line with all sort equipment. The massive statue is not only imposing but intrinsically constructed to very detail. It looks so expensive. It would probably cost a lot of millions ruble to state government.

Farther ahead of the monument, you see the memorial war plaque in a row. Names of soldiers who died in the patriotic war was visibly imprinted on the walls .

The Eternal Burning Flame

At the head of the park is the mammoth monument commissioned to the victory world war two. In the front lies the eternal flame, burning day and night without ceased.

And just behind it is the statue of a soldier holding a sub-machine gun and an obelisk extended toward the sky. I promise you get lost in thought momentary in admiration of this gigantic monument.

To the right side of the park, is the forest area. The forest is mostly of Spruce with grassy undergrowth. It expectedly colder than the rest of the park.

It is calm environment, excellent for picnics. And If you chose to spread a mat and have picnic, don’t be surprised to receive visitors from the animal kingdom . Rabbits, squirrels and fox might show up to request food from you.

The lady and Naval exhibition

The Naval area is really interesting. It is on the far end on the right-side of the park. A scenic spot for taking pictures. There you will see a sail of submarine, a statue of lady standing on a rock and water splashing her feet.

Before you leave this area, I will recommend you check the stair garden where you find the longest stair in the city. It will take you 15 minutes to descend the stair and might take an hour to return back to the top. It all depend on your agility.

The Spectacular view from the Alley

The alley is situated at the far end of the park. There you can take a walk beside the wall and enjoy the spectacular view of the valley of river Belaya . If you come at the right time of the

year, I bet you will take postcard shot.

The alley extends down to the park’s garden. Generally ,you find there people who prefer tranquil environment. Except you want to read, I wont advice you stay for long in this area of the park.

The Museum and the Artilleries

The Republic Museum of War Glory is at left side of the entrance gate, you could come to the park and go straight away to the museum if you wish. The museum has a thousand collection of pictures taking during the World War II. If you are fan military hardware, I will suggest you pay the entrance fee of 100 Ruble and find your way inside.

A few steps from the side of the museum is the artillery exhibition area. I will call it children center. There a dozen of artillery parked in this place and you will find tens of children anytime of the day playing with these war machinery.

Seeing is believing as the saying goes. Why not come and experience the victory park yourself.
