The Top of the World, Honningsvåg, Norway

I visited beautiful Honningsvåg in 2017 when on my way to the famous North Cape or Nordkapp. It’s the northernmost city in Norway, and often referred to as the top of the world.

Hi @AdamGT ,

Thanks for sharing your photo. I haven’t visited Norway but what would you recommend and consider it’s worth seeing there? Did you try any traditional food?

Hi @MoniDi

You haven’t visited Norway! Perhaps you should team up with @DanniS and make that your next trip. Norway is amazingly beautiful from so many different aspects including geography, climate, people, architecture, gardens, culture and food. I have recently posted about some aspects of my trip there and having many photos I’ll try to add some more posts. Regarding food, I recall one eatery in Tromso that served traditional and home-cooked Norwegian food like herbal sausage and homemade beetroot soup. I had Salmon cakes and then a hand brewed coffee with a piece of carrot cake. The Salmon cakes were delicious and the brewed coffee was amazing. Regarding recommendation of what is worth seeing, well there are just so many but a standouts for me was the Arctic Cathedral (one of the most northern churches on earth) again Tromso and while there, a walk across Trmso Bridge is a must. Next you must visit Honningsvåg, the northernmost city in Norway, the top of the world and famous North Cape or Nordkapp. I will post more about Honningsvåg soon.

@AdamGT , @MoniDi , if walking along the Tromso Bridge, I also recommend taking a cable car to the top. The view is magnificent there: you can see the mountains, the Tromso island, and the straits, and you can also walk further and higher from there. It was an unforgettable experience in November.
